Update on OJB in India

For those who would like to be updated, here's a little info for you. More than a month after he went to India for kidney surgery, veteran music producer OB Jezreel is yet to undergo the surgery. The delay was necessary to enable OJB undergo several pre-transplant treatment before the main surgery. He has now concluded all necessary medical tests and will have the procedure in the coming days

4 UNIBEN students gruesomely killed in cult clash (GRAPHIC PHOTOS)

 Suspected cult groups have claimed the lives of four students at the University of Benin.
One of the victims simply identified as Snazzy, a 200-level Mathematics student  was shot in the neck in the university main campus at Ugbowo during a biometric verification exercise right in front of students.
Sources say the Black Axe and Aiye (blue) confraternities are on a warring path.
Another student Evans Ekohodo, a final year student of the department of Linguistics, who was the chief of the Kegites club, UNIBEN chapter was shot in the head at Osasogie, an off campus location of the university.

20 Killed In Renewed Benin City Cult War

No fewer than 20 persons have been killed in the past four days in different parts of Benin City, following a renewed cult war between suspected members of  Eiye Confraternity and Black Axe.
Over 10 persons were said to have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command in connection with the incident.
It was gathered that some of the leaders of the groups are on the run following the collaboration of security agencies with the state government to hunt for the suspects.
Vanguard was informed that the latest face-off was triggered  last Thursday when members of one of the groups went to the home of one of the suspects currently on the run, whose father was said to belong to one of the warring groups to resolve some money related issues.
It was learnt that while they were settling the issue, the suspect went upstairs to fetch a pump action gun and

A mild drama played out last Friday in Onitsha Magistrate Court 3 when three monkeys and its owners, Mohammed Garuba, 22, Dauda Usman, 25 and Nurah Mohammed, 22 were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and robbery.

Court proceedings were momentarily halted as the courtroom was thrown into confusion and uncontrollable laughter when the case was mentioned and the giant monkeys and their handlers were docked.
The three men and their monkeys were alleged to have robbed a senior police officer (names withheld) attached to Zone 6 Calabar, who was on transit.  According to the prosecutor, the police officer was traveling when he ran short of cash and went to one of the banks in Onitsha to make some withdrawals.

In what might sound like a tale from a Hammer House of Horror movie, a seven-month pregnant woman was recently burnt to death in Umuekechi village, Umuekwunne community in Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State. It was learnt that she was doused with fuel and set ablaze by her brother-in-law. Reason? The woman was said to have poured water on the man's dog.

A 39-year old Nigerian woman who burnt a girl’s thighs with hot iron after accusing her of stealing her N1,000 at Oshodi area of Lagos State said she did not know what came over her when she carried out the act.



The mother of three was arrested by officials of the Lagos State Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, WAPA, and Esther Child Right Foundation and brought to the Lagos State Government Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

Traders were close to tears at Oshodi Market where the woman sells clothes, when they saw how the thighs of the 15-year old girl (name withheld) was seriously burnt, leaving permanent deep scars on her body.

The little girl was sent by her parents, who live at Agege area of Lagos, to live with Isekolowo and serve as apprentice in her clothing shop. She started living with her in November 2012.

18-Year-Old Boy Stabs Neighbour To Death For Sleeping With His Girlfriend

A teenager from Matobo district, Zimbabwe fatally stabbed a neighbour after suspecting that he was having an affair with his girlfriend, police have reported.

Jokoniya Moyo (18) proceeded to Elliot Ncube's house in the same area at about 1am where Evidence Ncube (27) was staying and started assaulting him. Ncube tried to flee but Moyo caught up with him and stabbed him once on the left shoulder. Ncube died as a result of excessive bleeding.

Police spokesperson confirmed the incident that occurred last Wednesday. Police said Moyo suspected that Ncube was having an affair with his girlfriend, Thembelani Ncube (17), of the same village.
